We had a fabulous orientation at the end of April. This is my sixth year with IUHPFL, and this was the best orientation. No student held back. Everyone made an effort to participate. We began to see each other's personalities. It was very good.
Monsieur Isaiah is very good, and probably remembers everyone's name. I, Monsieur Michel, on the other hand, am not so good with names. As a professional photographer of some 35 years, I guarantee that I remember everyone's face. At the airport, I will be able to pick out each of our students. (It might help that everyone will be wearing a program t-shirt.)
Currently, I am scrambling to be ready for our departure on Wednesday, June 7. I'm doing laundry, cleaning my house, etc. I thought it might be helpful for me to make a list of things I am doing that might apply to students:
* Making sure that I have enough of my prescriptions and medications for the length of the program, and that they are in the original bottles from the pharmacy.
* Making sure that I have disabled the two-part authentication on my gmail account.
* Making sure that my checked bag is very underweight (50 lbs. max), so that I have room for my purchases while I am in France.
* Making sure that all of my carry-on liquids are less than three ounces and are in a separate, clear bag.
* Remembering that my ever-present water bottle has to be empty when I pass through airport security.
See the Facebook page for updates on our filght schedule. It has changed.
Monsieur Isaiah and I can't wait for tha adventure to begin.
